Keeps clean sheet Tuesday
Livakovic registered one save and secured a clean sheet in Tuesday's 1-0 victory versus Panama.
Analysis: After a very busy match versus England in the opener, Livakovic had a much simpler day against Panama. He was only truly tested during one stretch in the second half, but came up big for his nation. He made a diving save to stop Amir Murillo's strike in the 68th minute, then parried the ball out for a corner when Murillo followed up with another attempt. On the ensuing corner, he pushed a wide-open header over the goal, preventing a Panamanian equalizer for the third time in a minute. Other than that stretch he didn't have much to do on his way to his third clean sheet in his World Cup career. Next up is a massive matchup versus Ghana on Saturday, a must-win match for Croatia to finish second in the group.
Concedes four in loss to England
Livakovic recorded seven saves and allowed four goals in Wednesday's 4-2 loss versus England.
Analysis: It's hard to say Livakovic had a "good" performance since he allowed four goals, but to be fair, Croatia would've conceded at least a few more goals hadn't it been for the Dinamo Zagreb shot-stopper. Livakovic should have more favorable matches against Panama and Ghana, where he could have a bigger chance to earn a clean sheet -- and ultimately deliver better fantasy performances.
Set for starting role in World Cup
Livakovic is expected to be the starting goalkeeper for Croatia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Analysis: Livakovic didn't play in the first half of the 2025/26 season while at Girona, but he secured a steady role at Dinamo Zagreb in the second half of the campaign. The veteran goalkeeper is locked as the No. 1 option between the posts for Croatia in the World Cup, but he'll have a strong defense ahead of him, headlined by Josko Gvardiol and Luka Vuskovic.
