Ends World Cup suspended
Madibo recorded one tackle won, three clearances and four interceptions during the 2026 World Cup.
Analysis: Maidbo ended his World Cup in an unfortunate fashion, as he was suspended for their final group stage match after a red card following a rough tackle that broke Ismael Kone's leg. It gets even worse for the Madibo, as he will serve a further four games suspended by FIFA, having to feel for the guy a bit after such rough punishment in such an unfortunate situation. This is now two World Cup campaigns for Madibo, who has had a tough time doing all that much.
Sent off against Canada
Madibo was sent off in the 54th minute of Thursday's match against Canada.
Analysis: Madibo was shown a red card after a quick VAR check Thursday, with the midfielder sliding in on a malicious tackle that will likely leave Ismael Kone with a broken leg and out for the remainder of the tournament. This could also possibly end Madibo's tournament, as Qatar will have an uphill battle on the final day of the group stage as they battle Bosnia and Herzegovina for a third-place spot. With Madibo starting both matches thus far, a change will need to be made, with Karim Boudiaf or Mohammad Al Mannai likely to enter in his place.
Three interception on Saturday
Assim Madibo registered three interceptions in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Switzerland.
Analysis: Madibo made three interceptions, more than any Qatar player in the match. He completed 15 out of the 21 passes on the day, which did not include a cross. Madibo managed to win just one ground duel in three attempts as well.
