Makes World Cup debut

Dailon Livramento had one shot (zero on goal) in Monday's 0-0 draw versus Spain.

Analysis: Livramento played 61 minutes in Cape Verde's scoreless draw against Spain, registering a shot while managing just 10 touches before being replaced in the second half. He was largely isolated at the top of Cape Verde's attack as Spain controlled possession for extended periods, forcing him to spend much of the match chasing long clearances and defending in his own half. Livramento arrived at the World Cup with zero goals and one assist in 24 appearances (10 starts) the previous campaign.

Main striker for Blue Sharks

Livramento has been named in Cape Verde's World Cup squad and is expected to be the undisputed first-choice striker and the primary attacking reference for manager Bubista throughout the competition.

Analysis: Livramento ended the season at Casa Pia in the Primeira Liga having been one of the most important figures in Cape Verde's historic qualification campaign, scoring four goals including the decisive winner against Cameroon and the opener in the clinching 3-0 victory over Eswatini that sealed their first-ever World Cup place. The 24-year-old's intelligent movement, physical presence and clinical finishing make him the focal point of Cape Verde's entire attacking system, and his ability to hold the ball up and bring teammates into play gives Bubista a complete and dangerous option through the middle. Livramento heads into the World Cup as the most anticipated offensive player in the squad and the man on whom Cape Verde's hopes of causing a major shock in Group H will largely rest.
